Had an interest in Horse Racing for many years now, watching on the TV, reading the form, going racing and having a great day out, all of which are in my eyes superb. Have now taken the plunge and have some shares in a few, which again makes it even more interesting. The feeling you get when you have a winner or three is special and I do back all my tips. If you are serious about betting the best thing you can do is watch as much racing as you can, as this is the best way of studying form. My Nap today is the Tony Martin raider from Ireland. It doesn't make sense to bring this 5yo gelding over the water for his first start under rules unless connections fancy their chances. Only had one PTP start last Nov where he was prominent only to make a mistake 3 out and unseat his rider. Tony Martin is such shrewd trainer that his only runner on the card is hard to ignore.

Golden Phase is no stranger to Bath having been here on 3 occasions from 12 starts. Did win over 8f last summer but was then campaigned on the all weather finishing runner up 3 times and a 3rd place from the 4 starts after that win. Not seen for 153 days until a promising 5th of 12 last month. May well improve for that season opener and with inform Hollie Doyle on top this well weighted 4yo can go close.

Interesting that connections have booked the talented Tom Marquand as the last time this combination were together was last Oct at Nottingham conversion softened ground over 5f winning by a length. That was if a mark of 52 so the 54 tonight looks ok. Definitely has an each way shout.

After going chasing which Manorbank clearly didn't like and a having a break he returned to the smaller obstacles 15 days ago at Chepstow and ran a belter. Was backed from early odds of 12/1 and was last turning for home only to finish 2nd as the winner had already gone for home. Steps up 5f this evening and that will suit as he has already won over 20f on decent ground. Will have come on for his latest effort and this unexposed 9yo can go well.

Not sure what she beat at Wetherby 13 days ago but to win as she did by 12 lengths was to say the least impressive. This Oaks trial doesn't look to challenging and if the markets for the Oaks are right she should win this on route to Epsom.

Entitled to have come on for his first handicap start last month which was after a 71 day break. Steps up slightly in trip and looks the likely answer in Division 1 of this novices handicap hurdle. The yard and jockey only have 2 runners and they could well win this Div and Div 2 the lucky last.

An eye catching staying on 5th of 12 when last seen 12 days ago suggests that my selection is primed to go close here. Loves quicker ground over this minimum trip and is a course and distance winner. Comes from an in form yard and can go close.

Difficult to know what Convo beat at Saint-Cloud 45 days ago, but looking at the 2nd favourite Betty Clover he beat 13 rivals at Bath 16 days ago and beat them well on debut. I was there on that occasion and he was pretty straight on his first start and will surely come on for that decent effort.

A 400 mile round trip for Tarbat Ness but is one who likes it here at Catterick. This is low level stuff but at this level the John Berry runner is consistent. Has finished runner up here twice off marks of 51 & 52 and is off 53 this afternoon. Will hopefully have come on a bit for his seasonal debut at Wolvo earlier this month and the booking of talented Billy Loughnane gives him every opportunity to win for the second time.

Emma Lavelle decided to send him chasing this season but after a promising effort things didn't go to plan at Exeter in Nov. Now reverts back hurdling off his last winning mark with Joe Anderson taking off 5lb which is useful and Joe was on when winning at Chepstow in April 2023.

With the Henderson yard now back in the form that we know they should be in, it's hard to oppose Kingston Pride after his 2nd to Tripoli Flyer who ran so well at Aintree in a Graded affair. I have great respect for Adaay In Devon as I was at Bath to see her latest win when she quickened up rather nicely to win going away. That was on bottomless ground and the conditions on Friday will be very different along with better opponents. I have sided with the Clive Cox runner, who is also a course and distance winner and looks progressive but also unexposed. Only had 5 starts to date and was getting better as her first season progressed, culminating in 2 great efforts in Gp company at Salisbury and Newmarket. The yard are off to a good start and if her progress has continued over the winter months she can go well off a nice weight.
