ran a really good race on his racecourse debut at Newbury when a close up 2nd to Economics over a mile, doing some solid late work. That form received a big boost when that horse was an impressive winner of the Dante yesterday. Should be more to come.

made a pleasing debut in the Brocklesby at Doncaster despite showing plenty of inexperience. Once the penny dropped he was noted staying on nicely late on. Failed to build on that initial experience at Thirsk last time and whilst the extra furlong is a plus is probably playing for place money in a tough looking race.

Didn't see a racecourse until October but made his first appearance a winning one over 6f on the AW at Kempton. Not seen since but could be one to keep a close eye on this year over sprint distances.

Some useful maiden form in Ireland before making a winning debut for this yard in a minor event at Wolverhampton switched to the all-weather. Followed up that success over further back there last time. Should be capable of improving further so interesting here up in class.

Just the one start as a juvenile but was noted keeping on steadily at the end of the 9f trip to finish 2nd. Looked as though the run was needed on return to action when failing to justify short odds but there should be improvement to come this year and looks the one to beat.

Bit hit and miss for connections last season. Started off well enough but struggled for consistency. Was an impressive winner at Newmarket over 7f but followed that with a poor run over a mile when making his AW debut. Well beaten on his return at Newmarket when only beating one runner. Needs to bounce back in first time cheekpieces but no surprise if doing so.

having won his only start as a juvenile, a 9-runner maiden at Newcastle in November he reappeared in a 7f event at Redcar. Raced in midfield and was just moving into contention when stumbling and then just keeping on at the one pace. Should strip fitter for that and one for the shortlist

Really good sprinter on her day but missed most of last season due to injury. If none the worse for that she can hold her own at a decent level over 5 or 6 furlongs. Keep an eye on her.

hasn’t had a lot of racing for an eight year old but has been running consistently of late and been placed on his last three starts, all handicaps over this sort of trip. Ground conditions seem immaterial to him and expected to be bang there at the finish.

Was an impressive winner of her sole 2y.o start in a valuable sales race at the Curragh over 7f. The manner of that victory suggests she could be very useful and she had no real worries when winning on her return at prohibitive odds. it will be a major disappointment if she doesn’t prove herself capable of holding her own in much stronger company than she has faced so far, starting here.

Cheap buy from Ireland, having shown only modest form, for shrewd connections. Made debut for them at Newcastle but ran a shocker, pulled far too hard and was always out the back. Slightly better back there next time having settled slightly better, could be more to come but needs to bounce back from a disappointing run at Thirsk last time, over 7f and on heavy ground. Given his headstrong tendencies this drop back to the minimum trip is an interesting move by connections. Could surprise.

Lightly raced well-bred sort who made an encouraging debut for his new yard and built on that when winning a 6f handicap at Newcastle before finishing a respectable 3rd over 7f at Southwell. Ran a shocker at Newcastle last time when tried in a much higher grade race dropped back to 6f and needs to bounce back and could do so at a more realistic level.

Was competing consistently at Group 3 level and ran better than the result might suggest when finishing unplaced in Doha in February. Did well as a three year old last year, winning the Chester Vase on his return to action and also taking the Geoffrey Freer Stakes and was also a good runner up in the St Leger on his final start. There were a couple of disappointing efforts but they came on quicker ground which could explain them. Looked in need of his return race at Newbury and his form shows he needs give in the ground to be effective and if getting that should be in for another good season.

Won on debut on the AW at Dundalk before posting creditable efforts on his two other starts . Likely to be suited to trips in excess of 10f this season and looked a little unlucky on return at Chelmsford when failing to get a clear run at a crucial stage. More to come.

Made a winning debut over a mile at Doncaster, winning a shade cosily in the end. Turned out again just six weeks later, back at Doncaster, on much softer ground, and ran well to finish a close up 3rd. Looks sure to progress and one to have on side following on from a winning return at Nottingham 3 weeks ago.

Runner up in both his starts as a two year old, shaping with promise on both occasions. Wasn’t seen after June but didn’t lack for fitness on his return when justifying favouritism in a 7f maiden at Thirsk. Decent chance of following up in this on handicap debut.
