Golf is my game, and my tips can, at times, pay dividends . I'm no expert regarding horse racing, but I'm improving due to following some of the OLBG members here who seem better than the pros. Football, rugby, snooker, tennis and some American sports are others I take an interest in.

19th May 2024
19:10 Mizuho Americas Open

Rose Zhang

50 WIN

While Nelly Korda is on a six timer from seven starts, I think Rose Zhang might have something to say about that. At just 20, the American was winning her second LPGA Tournament at last week's Cognizant Founders Cup shooting an incredible -24 to win by two. with Korda 14 shots back in T-7. I reckon Zhang has the game and current form to again challenge strongly at the Mizuho Americas Open.

Xander Schauffele

1st Round Leader

50 WIN

Xander Schauffele looked all over the winner at last week's Wells Fargo leading through all three rounds until caught by McIlroy after the 63 holes. The American has the form to win this week to contend, but for now, I'll take him to lead after Day 1.

Akshay Bhatia

Top American

25 EW

The ever improving Akshay Bhatia has an excellent opportunity to showcase his exceptional kills on a course which should suit him. The American was a brilliant winner of the recent Texas Open late March giving him his second PGA Tour title. At 22, Bhatia has the world at his feet and I expect a big showing at Valhalla this week.

J T Poston

Top American

25 EW

J T Poston has the game to be a major winner having had two wins on the PGA Tour. A recent 5th place finish at the RBC will have his confidence high going into this week's PGA Championship and being one of the best putters on tour,Poston gets my vote to claim a top 5 at Valhalla in Kentucky this week.

J T Poston

25 EW

J T Poston should win many more tournaments in my opinion having won just two in his fairly short career. The American possesses a brilliant all-round game many pros would envy, but most of the envy would be aimed at his putting. Great player around the greens, so if Poston has his game this week, I fancy he can strongly contend.

Ludvig Aberg

25 EW

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ludvig Aberg win the PGA Championship this week. The young Swede has all the attributes to be a multiple majoir winner having progressed from a brilliant amateur to an immediate golfing sensation in his first season on the PGA Tour making the Ryder Cup team after a few impressive performances. I'll take Aberg to finish top 5 at this week's PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy

50 WIN

Rory McIlroy eased to victory at last week's Wells Fargo playing some of the best golf of his career. The confidence gained from that easy win should stand him in good stead as he searches for a 5th major. Surely if holding is current form, the Irishman is the one to beat.

Si Woo Kim

25 EW

A four time winner on the PGA Tour, Si Woo Kim isn't the type of golfer who would be nervous playing in a major tournament. The South Korean has played well in recent tournaments including a T-6 at the Players, a tornament he won in 2023, and T-16 at last week's Wells Fargo. Kim certainly has the game to strongly contend in Kentucky this week.

Stephan Jaeger

25 EW

Stephan Jaeger was always a competitive golfer, but it took until this year to see him raise his maiden PGA Tour title when successful at the Texas Childrens Houston Open in March. The German is having a season with several close finishes and if holding that belief and form, Jaeger can strongly contend this week at a huge price.
