There's very much a touch of bias in this market towards those from the bigger and more fashionable yards, but strictly on what we have seen and handicap ratings, this one has a real chance here and shouldn't be anywhere near as big as 11/1. This unexposed colt has won his last 2 and previous winners of both those races are often rated in excess of 10lb more than Spirit of Acklam races off here. Clearly the trainer/jockey bias towards the more fancied horses means we get a bigger price and that should be used to our advantage I would suggest.

The horse has been gelded for his 3yo debut and the trainer has booked his very useful 3lb claimer for the ride. There's actually several angles which would suggest the horse is overpriced at 16/1, notably the fact that the sires progeny excel at 10 furlongs so this first attempt at this far could well yield further improvement. The sires progeny also do better as 3yo's and the stable certainly can get them ready after a break so it would be no surprise to see this one go well.

I was on this one last time out when he was punted off the boards and was a fast finishing 2nd after a ride that Tom Marquand would rather forget. He gets chance for redemption here off a 4lb higher mark, and since that was his seasonal debut run, it's fair to assume that he will strip fitter here. I'm fairly convinced that this horse was much the best horse in that race last time out despite not winning, and the usually reliable Marquand can make amends here.

Rayat is all the rage here in the betting, but the time off the course and jockey booking are concerns for me, whereas this 2nd fav has a good recent run and an excellent first time jockey booking. The horse has yet to prove he is as effective on turf as he is on the AW, but he hasn't raced on ground this fast yet, and has to be worth taking a chance with at a generous looking 6/1. The sires progeny also have a terrific record at the course of 111633520450321 and the jockey is unlikely to go home from this lesser track empty handed.

This race is wide open and I can't resist a little bet on this one from a high draw with a very unexposed profile. The trainer has also booked a jockey who does particularly well here. The horse makes her handicap debut off 55 . The horse is sired by a relatively new sire too and they have already shown they possess plenty of abilty and like fast ground which is another plus.

This jockey has only ridden this horse once before which resulted in a win off a 3lb lower mark in a style that suggests he should be well up to winning off this mark. The style of that win when joining the leader late on, and seeing out the trip well was impressive and certainly would strongly indicate that he can go in again here for a stable that perenially do well at this time of year.

Mukaafah needed a run before winning a novice race impressively last year and can step up again here in his 2nd seasonal start after racing too freely last time out. The horse goes handicapping now with a first time hood and it's easy to look at some of the subsequent runs of those well beaten horses so see that he looks to be a few pounds ahead of the handicapper here.
